Comments: I have just completed the family tree of George Dance the Elder and some of his descendants from information supplied by an Australian descendant. I would like to know more about a possible Winchester connection. Tom

Comments: Back in the late 1990's I saw on the Showtime cable TV channel the movie: Out of the Shadows. Does anyone remember this movie? Well that is when I first saw Charles Dance and wow!! Then I tracked him down in other movies, White Mischief and Jewel in the Crown. Through the years I been keeping an eye on Charles until I saw him in Games of Thrones! Yes a bit older, aren't we all? And a force to be reckon with! I simply adore his voice and his attitude.

Comments: Hi there, First of all, thank you! I'm absorbing all the information! I just discovered Mr. Dance very recently for me, as an actor, I mean, you know, angelically spoken. He might even displace Mr. Connery, which is saying A LOT! I saw him in the first 2 parts of the Pilcher adaptation 'This September' and, WOW, there he was. Now I got the dvds (thank God with English soundtrack) and am rewinding all the Edmund scenes constantly. Can't wait to see the follow-ups (which are said to be currently filming in Scotland. Mpf, what a wasted opportunity for a stalking vacation...)! After some hectic research, I realised that he did 'Ladies in Lavender' as writer and director. I like this film very much and DID NOT recognise it. Unbelievable. Shame on me. Well, there's a lot of catching-up to do. Oh, by the way, he's just SO gorgeous-looking! C heers, Brownie PS: Does anyone know if he's writing this diary thing in the Evening Standard regularly?

Comments: Every time I look at Mr. Charles Dance this poem comes to my mind. Who knows why?
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost." (Tolki en)
Thank you Charles for"being" . I wish i could see you in a play... just once.
Gloria: Estoy la misma situación que usted. Todos necesitamos un pequenito secreto...
Big hug from Hungary- petra
